I’ve known Robin for years; we met in middle school over a shared loved of horses. At the time, Robin lived nearly on five acres and already had a few of her own horses. After high school, Robin and her parents moved to Mt. Airy and purchased a beautiful farm. There they built an INCREDIBLE riding stable with tons of indoor stalls, a massive and gorgeous indoor riding ring, an outdoor riding ring, and even two smaller barns! It is amazing!! I have been a horseback rider since I was 8, and when I was 13, I got my beloved horse, Breeze. Breeze lived at a family friend’s barn for years, but when he was forced to move, I was so worried about where my Breeze would go. Robin suggested I come look at her barn and I am SO glad I did because as soon as I saw Talbot Run, all of my worries dissipated. We moved Breeze to Talbot Run and she got to be a field board horse there for many years. I was devastated when Breeze passed away suddenly a few years ago, and I literally gave up riding entirely. Although I got back into riding about a year and a half ago, I hadn’t been back to Talbot Run. So driving up the driveway to Talbot Run was so emotional for me. This place is just so beautiful, welcoming, and special. It is such a unique riding stable – and Robin and her mother and father are such good people.
When I got to Talbot Run, I got to meet Robin’s ADORABLE daughter, Lilia, for the first time. What a character! Lilia is as funny as she is cute :) Robin, Lilia, and I got to explore Talbot Run, taking photos with Lilia’s pony, Liberty, who I think wins the award for cutest pony EVER. Oh my gosh, where can I get my own Liberty? What an adorable pony!! And it is incredible to see Lilia’s skill with horses. She is so confident and well-balanced. It is amazing. This is true natural talented combined with spending every single day of her life around horses – it is amazing. She can even pick up Liberty’s feet and clean them with a hoof pick! Lilia is already such a talented rider; she clearly takes after her mother! I can’t wait to see this girl’s riding skills as she gets older. Enjoy some favorites from Lilia’s fun session with her pony, Liberty (and Robin’s horse makes a guest appearance too!) :)
The one on the right cracks me up!
Liberty is SO easy-going!
I love this one!
Cutie!
It was a long way down – this is Robin’s horse!
Mom and daughter :)
I love these! Look how confident Lilia is on horseback? She takes right after her mom!
And I just had to include this one – we were doing a shoot at Robin’s barn after this photo session, and we had this big beautiful wedding bouquet. Lilia came out in her pajamas to hold the pretty bouquet :) (And to enjoy a few cookies too – haha!)
