Last weekend I went to gorgeous Brookside Gardens with Nandi and her mother, Elisa, for Nandi’s senior portraits. Nandi is a senior at Hammond High School and she is considering colleges in Maryland, Chicago, Michigan, and a few other states for next year. Elisa suggested we do the senior session at Brookside Gardens because it had been a special spot for her family for years. We even recreated a few special photos that Elisa has of Nandi when she was a little girl.
It had snowed the day before, but it actually was fairly warm – for December – the day we met up. That said, it was still pretty chilly for poor Nandi! I was wearing jeans, snow pants, tall socks, two shirts, and two coats, so you can just imagine how chilly Nandi was – especially when she switched to her pretty dress! But she managed to keep a smile on her face and she was so incredibly positive and fun to be around. Plus, Elisa had lots of blankets and jackets that Nandi put on between poses – and we stopped and got hot chocolate on the ride home!
I’ve known Elisa for four years, so it was very special to meet her daughter. Most people talk about how wonderful their children are, but Nandi really is something special. She is so sweet, friendly, and incredibly smart (I can’t wait to hear what college she decides on!). Nandi hopes to get a law degree after college, and she really wants to make a difference in the world – and I know she will do big things (and I am excited to hear about them in the future!).
I had such a good time with Nandi and Elisa and I love Nandi’s portraits! She had so many fun outfits and cute scarves, so there are lots of great variations. Enjoy Nandi’s gorgeous senior portraits – starting with one of my favorite pictures ever!
Brookside Gardens was decorated for the Garden of Lights (which is great!) – so there were Christmas lights everywhere! This arbor area had lights that looked like bunches of grapes – they were so cute! I love these ones of Nandi in this arbor area (and isn’t her blue and green scarf fabulous?).
Absolutely stunning!
Such a gorgeous smile!!
I love these!
Nandi’s rings were both family heirlooms. I love those special, meaningful touches!
I know she was cold, but she hides it well!
I love these. Elisa wanted some pictures to represent Nandi stepping into her new life – moving out, going to college, working toward her career goals, and truly growing up. I love these ones – Nandi is truly stepping into her new life!
And I wanted a few of Nandi and Elisa together. Elisa was a little emotional from the previous pictures, but I love these :)
Mother and daughter (bundled up chilly daughter!).
I had such a great time with you two!! Congratulations Nandi! I can’t wait to hear about your next big achievement :)
