Lauren + Andrew, an Elegant Wedding at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, DC

I am so excited to share Lauren and Andrew’s wedding today!! Lauren and Andrew were married on Saturday, September 28, at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, DC.

Lauren LOVES Disney, and so Andrew proposed in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World – in front of the castle! What a magical moment! On her wedding day, Lauren wanted to continue the magic, so she chose a stunning, sparkly gown that looked absolutely amazing in their reception ballroom under the soft lights. (Plus beautiful sparkly shoes and jewelry, too!!). And the magic continued into their honeymoon. Lauren and Andrew flew to California first and enjoyed visiting Disneyland for the first time, before heading off to Hawaii for the rest of their honeymoon!!

I met Lauren and Andrew last fall for their engagement session, and then I got to see them again this spring for portraits with their sweet pup, too!! I love that these two have fall portraits and spring portraits during this exciting time!! I’ve loved getting to know these two over the last year (and following their adventures on Instagram!), and I was so excited to celebrate their best day!

Lauren and her bridal party got ready at the Omni, and Andrew and his groomsmen were just one floor down. Lauren and Andrew wanted to wait and see each other for the first time at the altar, so they chose to share gifts with one another before their ceremony – and their gifts were so, so sweet! Lauren wrote a letter to Andrew for every single day of the year (INCREDIBLE!). It was such a thoughtful gift, and it will be one that Andrew can cherish for many, many years. Andrew gave Lauren a beautiful frame with photos from some of their most special moments, and on the back, he wrote a timeline of their lives together. It was so sweet! These two are so thoughtful with one another, and it is clear that they love and support one another so much.

Lauren and Andrew shared their vows in the lovely garden courtyard outside of the Omni Shoreham, and then it was time for portraits! And after pictures, it was time to celebrate! Lauren and Andrew’s reception space was stunning, with tall floral displays and beautiful gold details. And their wedding cake was so pretty!!

To kick off the celebration, Lauren and Andrew’s friend sang for their first dance (so special!), and their parents and Lauren’s sister, Joanna, gave such sweet speeches. And then the dancing began!! About halfway through the reception, everyone was given a fun Hawaiian lei to celebrate Lauren and Andrew’s honeymoon to Hawaii while dancing to the Beach Boys’ Kokomo (and Lauren and Andrew had bridal white leis!). It was such a fun party with lots and lots of dancing! After the cake cutting, guests were served late night snacks of pretzels with cheese and hot dogs, too! We snuck outside with Lauren and Andrew for a few quick late night pictures, and these two ended the night with a fun sparkler exit on the patio!

Kelsey and I were so excited to photograph another gorgeous wedding at the Omni Shoreham. The Omni Shoreham is absolutely stunning, with a perfect (and huge!) garden with a lovely ceremony space and lots of pretty places for portraits. The ballrooms are beautiful, and the staff have always been so wonderful to work with. It is such a gem of a venue right in Washington, DC! And it was the perfect space for Lauren and Andrew to celebrate their special day. Kelsey and I loved that we got to work with videographers Justin and Manuel of Last Avalon Films – our favorite team!

Lauren and Andrew are such a sweet couple, and it is clear that these two are so, so in love. They are so kind and thoughtful, and their connection with one another is so special. It is so exciting to be part of such special days, and Kelsey and I loved celebrating with Lauren, Andrew, and their families and friends. It was a truly magical day, and such an honor to be part of their wedding. Lauren and Andrew, we are so happy for you two!! Congratulations on your marriage!
