When I first met Shelly and Brian last October, I instantly felt like I had two new friends. Shelly had just run the Baltimore half marathon the day before while Brian hung out with friends and had a few beers; my fiance ran that same race the day before while I ate an amazing breakfast at Miss Shirleys and drank mimosas! The similarities didn’t end there; Shelly and I share the same birthday, we both have a cat named Abby, and we all have lots of Maryland pride! The two of them are such sweet, loving people, and I couldn’t wait for their May wedding – and I know that the two of them couldn’t either!
When we met, Shelly and Brian told me that they really wanted their guests to get a feel for Maryland, since so many of them were coming from out of town. The Baltimore, Maryland theme carried through in so many ways, from the beautiful waterside location in Fells Point facing the iconic Domino Sugar sign and their rings from Maryland jeweler Smyth Jewelers to the Baltimore skyline on their invitations and the Baltimore City neighborhoods that Shelly and Brian named each guest table after (complete with fun facts!).
Shelly and Brian are just good people, and their friends and family were a true reflection of the type of people these two are. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were so funny, sweet, and friendly (oh, and they wore sunglasses for the shots!), and Shelly and Brian’s mothers were so kind. I brought my sister with me to assist (she was AWESOME!) and she kept saying “they are so nice!!” about everyone involved in the wedding – and it is true – they are just such sweet people. And most importantly, Shelly and Brian are two people that really, truly love one another. After a long relationship, the two are finally married, and the joy they felt really could not be contained. They are such genuine people, and they truly love each other. I am so grateful to have been a part of the start of their wonderful marriage, and I look forward to seeing photos (and hopefully taking photos!) of their many more years together!
