Victoria and Bobby met way back in middle school, and just last weekend, these two tied the knot! Victoria and Bobby became friends in middle school, but then lost touch because they went to different schools. It wasn’t until years later, when Victoria was in college and Bobby was serving in Afghanistan, that these two reconnected through Facebook – and the rest is history :) Victoria and Bobby’s wedding day was so special – and their venue was truly a one of a kind wedding venue! These two held their wedding ceremony and reception in a place that was very near and dear to both of them – right in Victoria’s grandparents’ backyard! Victoria’s grandparents have a gorgeous farm with rolling fields and the perfect flat space for a ceremony and a tented reception. It was such a gorgeous space, and Victoria’s family transformed this so incredibly! It was so special that the wedding was so close to home; in fact, when we were talking a few weeks before their wedding day, Victoria said that her parents’ house was just down the street in case she or Bobby forgot to bring anything! (On my wedding day, I forgot our gorgeous cake tablecloth and the pink cotton candy for the candy bar – but we were way too far from home; Victoria had the right idea!). It was so nice too that this beautiful backyard space lent itself so well to a natural indoor/outdoor flow; guests relaxed on the ceremony benches while others partied on the dance floor and the kids had fun in the photo booth!
In addition to the family farm as a backdrop to their wedding, Victoria and Bobby included lots of unique touches. Each guest was gifted a cute mason jar mug customized with their name in chalkboard paint (and these two even had ones for Kelsey and I! They are so thoughtful!!). In addition to that, the beautiful arbor that these two said their vows under was built by Victoria’s grandfather, and they had a custom made bobblehead cake topper that looked just like them – all the way to the detailing of Victoria’s dress!!
The month of May in Maryland has been extraordinarily rainy; we’ve had rain and clouds almost every single day this month, and Victoria and Bobby’s wedding day was forecasted for more of the same – plus thunder and lightning! I was a little nervous – mainly because everything was scheduled to be outdoors! – but Victoria was so prepared and calm! The day of their wedding, I was checking the forecast probably every fifteen minutes (and getting updates from my husband too!), but early in the day, the forecast predicted that the rain would end by 3:00. As Kelsey and I were driving to the farm, it started raining. I panicked, but Kelsey checked the forecast again and told me it would be over soon – and she was right! And once that rain ended, we were SO blessed to have gorgeous sunny skies! It was incredible after all of the rain we’ve had this month to have such a beautiful, sunny evening, and as Victoria and Bobby’s family and friends said, it was truly a gift.
After our beautiful portraits (this farm is just stunning!!), Victoria, Bobby, and their family and friends partied the night away LONG into the night! (And this group can dance!! It was a fun party!). Enjoy some favorites from Victoria and Bobby’s beautiful wedding day :)
Victoria’s dress is so gorgeous!
These gorgeous fuchsia bridesmaids dresses were so pretty in the wind!
Stunning!!
These girls were SO good at this! Such models!
Victoria, you are such a gorgeous bride! She was just glowing :)
Love this fun shot Kelsey got!
The officiant had everyone create a bridge with their fingers and try to take their ring fingers apart; the fact that they couldn’t demonstrated how strong a marriage is. It was so sweet seeing everyone participate!
Portrait time! How sweet are these two?Another absolute favorite!
This John Deere tractor made for the prettiest backdrop!
Victoria, you are just so gorgeous!!
Yay!! Married!
This wonderful group!! I love this one Kelsey got of everyone having fun during portraits!! They are definitely a fun bunch :)
I carry way too many cameras, and Sage was hanging out with Kelsey and I, so I handed her a camera so she could join the team for a bit – and she did a great job! Check out the photo after this – she took that one!
Party time!
So sweet!
These two have such a good sense of humor! Their dance was so funny!
These three have this same photo from childhood! :)
All of the kids collected these small light up decorations and were having a blast tossing them into the night sky!
Congratulations, Victoria and Bobby!!
