Last weekend, I met up with Amanda and Nick out in Harford County for their engagement session, and it was great getting to know them! These two met a few years ago, and now they are planning their wedding!
These two have such a huge heart. As Hurricane Harvey pummeled Houston, Amanda and Nick stayed up one night talking about how they could help. Within just a few days, these two had organized a fundraiser to raise money to rent a large vehicle that they filled with supplies to take to those impacted by Harvey – and that they could fill with homeless dogs to bring back to a Maryland-based dog rescue! That way the rescues and shelters in Houston could take in more needy dogs, and these dogs could find homes. These two raised over $2000, then set off on the long drive to Houston, delivered supplies, and then picked up the foster dogs from Wendy’s Misfit Rescues in Texas for their long trip back (which included overnight camping stops – with a tent filled with 13 dogs!). All of the dogs have been placed with Defenders of Animal Rights in Phoenix, MD, and they are available for adoption now. I am blown away by how generous these two are.
Not only are Amanda and Nick so kind, but these two are a blast to hang out with! We had so much fun hiking in Harford County to a beautiful stream (just wait until you see the photos!). We headed to another park nearby where these two popped a bottle of champagne open, saw the sun set, snuggled under a Woolen Mills blanket from Ireland, and then got some photos at a waterfall. We had so much variety! I also loved that they incorporated so many things that are special to them. Amanda loves to hike, so it was great that we took a hike and explored some of the places she likes to hike to. The Woolen Mills blanket these two snuggled under was purchased by Amanda and her father when they visited Ireland – which is where her family is from! They shared champagne in cute Mr. and Mrs. mugs, a gift from a family member, and Amanda wore both her engagement ring – which is an heirloom ring from her grandmother – and a sapphire ring, which was from her other grandmother. So sweet!
Amanda and Nick, I can’t wait to celebrate with you two – I know your wedding day is going to be SO much fun. Congratulations and enjoy some favorites from your beautiful engagement session!!
