I am so happy to share beautiful Athena’s portrait session! Athena is a sweet rescue dog; her mom adopted her ten years ago, and these two have been best friends ever since. Athena knows all kinds of tricks, like how to high five and even how to dance! Not only is she super smart, but Athena is super sweet. She is such a nice, easy-going, beautiful dog, and it was so fun spending a warm summer afternoon with Athena and her mom, Ellen, at Schooley Mill Park.
Schooley Mill Park is one of my favorite parks, and it was where I enjoyed taking my dogs, Cara and Emily. I photographed Athena not long after my Emily dog passed away, and it was really cathartic to spend time with sweet Athena. I also know how much her mom will appreciate having these beautiful photos of her, because photos of my girls mean more to me now than ever. Athena is quite a unique dog; she has cute little feet, a big bushy tail, and such expressive eyes and ears. I loved her cute head tilts (and she was so funny about some of her favorite words!).
Ellen and Athena, it was so nice to meet you both, and Ellen, thank you for rescuing! Athena is such a wonderful friend. Enjoy some favorites from your beautiful summertime engagement session!
There is something so beautiful about these waving yellow and green fields behind Athena.
