For my birthday, Justin surprised me with two tickets to California!! I couldn’t believe it (seriously couldn’t believe it!) and right away we started planning our exciting California road trip adventure! In late March, Justin and I flew from Baltimore, Maryland to Oakland, California and then drove from Oakland through San Francisco and Sausalito to Napa, where we stayed for our first two days. Next, we drove to Monterey for one night, and then made the incredible trip down route one through Big Sur. It was incredible traveling the Pacific Coast Highway and seeing the views of Big Sur! We spent one night in Santa Barbara, and then traveled to Laguna Beach for an evening, then stayed in La Jolla for one night, and then headed to Beverly Hills and Los Angeles for the last night. It was an INCREDIBLE trip and we had the opportunity to see so much. I took way, way too many pictures, and have truly only just begun to sort through them, but these are a few of my favorites from our Monterey through Big Sur portion of the trip :)
This mom and baby seal playing in the surf in Monterey was the highlight of our day!! We watched these seals for an hour, at least. I’m obsessed. They are just so beyond cute!
So California in March was MUCH colder than we expected! I only packed sandals and lightweight clothes, but brought this coat just in case I got cold on the airplane! Instead I ended up wearing this jacket every day! haha! When we hiked in Monterey, I had on socks with my Keens, two pairs of yoga pants, and four layers (and I was still chilly!). We definitely did not plan well for the weather! :)

I seriously have thousands of seal and sea lion photos from this trip – but this one cracks me up :) Look how happy this little pup is!
