Christine and Shawn were married at the INCREDIBLE Mt. Washington Dye Mill House in Baltimore, MD.
I have loved getting to know Christine and Shawn. These two are such upbeat, sweet, kind people, and they were so excited for their day. When we met up for their engagement session last spring, these two showed me some of their favorite parts of Baltimore, including the bar where these two met! Christine and Shawn met just steps from where they now live at Don’t Know Bar. Now, this is a favorite spot for these two; I love that this part of Baltimore brought them together, and now they get to go there are husband and wife!
Christine started the day at the Radisson at Cross Keys just minutes from the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House. She got ready with her bridal party and mother, and Shawn got ready at the same hotel with his groomsmen and family. My sweet friend, Angela, of Behind the Veil Beauty, did Christine’s beautiful makeup. Christine and Shawn had arranged for a shuttle to take everyone to the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House, so once everyone arrived, it was time for Christine and Shawn to share a first look!!
I LOVE the excitement before the first look, and these two were SO excited to see each other. Their first look was so sweet; they couldn’t stop smiling at one another! And that joy carried over into their beautiful bride and groom pictures, too!
While it was not supposed to rain on their wedding day, these two got a little good luck right before their ceremony – mother nature surprised us and it rained for about two hours – stopping just as we had the first look (such great timing!).
As we finished up portraits, Christine and Shawn’s guests began to arrive for their ceremony. I loved hearing all of the excitement from guests as they saw the stunning ceremony space. The Mt. Washington Dye Mill House is BEAUTIFUL – the interior is filled with exposed brick, weathered walls, and worn, gorgeous floors. And Christine and Shawn had the most beautiful décor! Their florist, Bella Fiori, had beautiful pale pink and white flowers accented by lush vines, golds, and geometric shapes. Lanterns lined the aisle, and the lights were low as the sun set and the ceremony began. It was really stunning, and guests kept commenting on how beautiful it was :)
And not only was their ceremony beautiful, but it was so sweet too! Christine and Shawn’s DJ’s, The Pips, played guitar as the wedding party processed down the aisle, and their officiant, Pastor Mary Ka Kanahan, has known Shawn most of his life, so the ceremony was really special. They also had readings by three friends before these two were pronounced husband and wife! Yay! After the ceremony, Christine and Shawn joined their guests for the cocktail hour, and then it was reception time! As beautiful as the ceremony was, the reception was even prettier! After introductions, speeches, and dinner, the dance floor opened – and this was such a fun night! Christine and Shawn’s awesome DJ’s also work at Don’t Know Bar – and they knew exactly what music to play to keep everyone dancing, This was so much fun and the dance floor was packed! (And as a photographer, the beautiful café lights in the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House made for such PRETTY reception photos!!). The Linwood staff and everyone at the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House was INCREDIBLE also; they are some of the nicest people I have ever worked with, and they worked so hard to make Christine and Shawn’s wedding day perfect!
Toward the end of the reception, we snuck outside for quick night portraits under the beautiful café lights outside of the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House, and then these two had a beautiful sparkler exit! These night pictures are GORGEOUS!! Just wait until you see them!!
