I am so excited to share Emma and Chris’ beautiful wedding today!!
Emma and Chris had a lovely intimate wedding that began at the Sagamore Pendry in Fell’s Point, Baltimore and continued at Woodberry Kitchen.
Emma and Chris had originally planned to get married in June 2020, but that date was pushed back a few times. Luckily, Emma and Chris chose to move forward with their marriage. They were married in a very intimate ceremony at the stunning Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Virginia (you should definitely visit that blog post to see those photos!). And now, Emma and Chris had the opportunity to celebrate their marriage with their family and friends all in one space together at Woodberry Kitchen on October 20, 2020!
And October 20, 2020 was a very special day – and date! Emma and Chris have had special numerical dates for a lot of major milestones in their relationship. 10/20/2020 is their wedding date, 11/19/19 is the day they got engaged, and 8/20/20 is the day they got married! They even had a beautiful frame with all three dates and photos from each occasion on display at their wedding – and the 10/20/2020 photo was one I took on Emma’s phone soon after their first look and they printed out before heading to the reception! Such a cool idea!
Emma began the day by getting ready at the Sagamore Pendry with her mother, grandmother, and friends in a suite overlooking the harbor. Emma’s friend, Jasmine Pham, did her makeup, and Lucja of Lucja Bridal did her hair. Meanwhile, Chris got ready a few blocks away at their friend, Julieanna’s, house with my second shooter, Jennifer Smutek. Chris loves bourbon and he bought a special 20 year old bottle of Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve bourbon to begin the wedding day with. And Chris surprised Emma with gorgeous diamond solitaire stud earrings. They are beautiful!
The Sagamore Pendry is an absolutely stunning hotel in the heart of Baltimore, with a gorgeous infinity-edge pool leading to the Baltimore harbor and a beautiful sun drenched enclosed courtyard filled with greenery and plants (and even an adorable champagne vending machine!). A large horse statue on the middle of the courtyard pays tribute to Maryland’s history with horses and was also a fun touch for Emma and Chris, since Emma is an equestrian! The top floor ballroom of the Sagamore Pendry has a long, elegant red staircase leading to a hotel entrance (we stopped here for some gorgeous photos, too!). The Sagamore Pendry is just such an amazing spot for photos and an incredible venue.
Emma and Chris shared their intimate first look at the Sagamore Pendry courtyard. It was so sweet (and Chris’ joy at seeing Emma in her wedding gown was so beautiful!). Afterward, we explored the Sagamore Pendry, starting with the courtyard, heading to the pool deck, and then ending with the long staircase. Chris is a photographer also and has such a good eye for photo ideas. Chris and Emma scoped out some favorites spots ahead of time and it was so fun to see their awesome vision!! Emma and Chris’ wedding day was truly a perfect day; the weather was so beautiful with perfectly clear, sunny skies. We were so lucky!
After photos, it was time to head to Woodberry Kitchen for their wedding ceremony! Emma shared a first look with her dad inside of Woodberry Kitchen before beginning her walk down the aisle on his arm. Emma and Chris had a beautiful intimate outdoor ceremony on the patio outside of Woodberry Kitchen under a sun-dappled tree.
While the guests enjoyed a mimosa hour on Woodberry Kitchen’s patio – complete with custom “his” and “hers” drinks (apple cider, lemon, raspberry, and a splash of cava for her and Kopper Kettle bourbon, lemon, and honey for him) – Emma, Chris, and I explored the awesome industrial space around Woodberry Kitchen for portraits.
And then it was time for the reception! Emma and Chris had a beautiful room in Woodberry Kitchen for their reception, with farmhouse tables, cozy checked cloth, soaring ceilings, and metal chandeliers. After they were introduced, Emma and Chris cut their wedding cake and then joined their guests for a Woodberry Kitchen lunch. It was such a wonderful afternoon!Emma and Chris, it has been so wonderful getting to know you two for the last two years and I am SO happy for you both!! Your wedding was so perfect. Congratulations on your marriage and your wedding!! Enjoy some favorites from your beautiful wedding day!
