Hillary and Tim, a Washington DC Wedding at the St Regis Hotel and St John Episcopal Church

I am so happy to share Hillary and Tim’s wedding today!!

Hillary and Tim celebrated their marriage at historic and iconic St John’s Episcopal Church in Lafayette Square in Washington DC on Saturday, October 9, 2021 and continued the celebration with friends and family at the beautiful St Regis Hotel in Washington, DC.

Hillary and Tim met while students at Georgetown University’s MBA program, and their first date was at a Washington Nationals baseball game! The two discovered that they had a lot in common (even that Tim had lived in Chicago for a bit – where Hillary grew up!).

In July 2019, while Tim and Hillary were visiting Hillary’s family on Georgian Bay, Tim proposed! Tim and Hillary went kayaking to an iconic lighthouse on Georgian Bay. At the top of the lighthouse, overlooking the bay, Tim proposed – and of course, Hillary said yes!

Hillary and Tim have waited a long time for their wedding day celebration! Hillary and Tim originally planned to get married in May 2020, but that date was postponed to Fall 2020. When that date was once again postponed, Hillary and Tim decided to get married in a beautiful rooftop celebration at their home in Washington, DC with a few family and friends as witnesses. Now, one year ago, and on Hillary’s BIRTHDAY! too, they get to celebrate their marriage with all of their friends and family!! Yay!!

Hillary and Tim began the day by getting ready in different suites at the historic St Regis Hotel in Washington, DC. Hillary gifted her matron of honor, bridesmaid, and mom all matching custom name tumblers is the cutest Friends – themed name glasses! Hillary loves Friends and there were lots of fun Friends themes throughout her day, like her bag (“The One Where Hillary Got Married”) and a reference to finding “her lobster” in her matron of honor, Katie’s, speech.

Tim and her groomsmen walked to St John’s Episcopal Church, which was less than a block from the St Regis Hotel! It was so convenient! Once they were inside, Hillary and her bridal party walked to the church, also. And then it was wedding ceremony time!

Hillary and Tim’s officiant, Reverend William Morris, gave such a touching and thoughtful wedding ceremony, and at the end, as Hillary and Tim kissed and were finally announced as husband and wife for their family and friends, everyone cheered!

After the ceremony, it was party time! Everyone walked back to the St Regis to enjoy cocktail hour in the beautiful St Regis Astor Terrace courtyard patio as the sun set. And then, Hillary and Tim got to preview their wedding ballroom before guests joined the party. After Hillary and Tim were announced, they shared their first dance as husband and wife, and then Hillary and her father danced and Tim danced with his mother. Then, Hillary’s dad welcomed everyone to the wedding. After that, the soup course was served to guests. Each guest was given a bowl of crab and corn and then hot soup was ladled into each bowl table side. It was such a beautiful presentation! After that, Hillary’s matron of honor and Tim’s best man gave such kind and thoughtful speeches, and then dinner was served. Soon it was time for cake cutting and then dancing! The St Regis was such a beautiful space for Hillary and Tim’s celebration. The ballroom is stunning, with soaring decorated ceilings and detailed walls. It was so nice that guests could enjoy the indoor space and also the spacious outdoor courtyard throughout the evening.

Hillary and Tim’s wedding was such a joyful occasion. Hillary and Tim are two of the sweetest people, and their joy about marrying one another was evident throughout the day. Hillary smiled so much all day and her happiness was contagious! Everyone was so wonderful and kind to work with. Hillary and Tim’s wonderful wedding planner, Ashly, of B.Mingled Events, kept the day running smoothly and she made sure every little detail was taken care of. Ashly and her team were wonderful to work with! And the absolutely amazing staff at the St Regis went above and beyond to ensure that Hillary, Tim, and their guests had an incredible time. The St Regis staff were so friendly and welcoming; they have all worked there for many years – some for 30, 40, and even 50 years! They were truly some of the absolute best people we’ve had the opportunity to work with. Hillary and Tim’s DJ, DJ David Grimm, played a great mix of music and kept the evening running so smoothly. It was a great night!

As the night grew later, guests were welcomed to continue the celebration with late night snacks and sugar cookies decorated with white three-tiered wedding cakes (so cute!). It was such a fun night and an amazing celebration with family and friends from so many different states – and even countries!

Congratulations, Hillary and Tim!! We are so happy for you two! It was such an honor to share your beautiful wedding day with you two. Enjoy your amazing honeymoon to beautiful Quebec City this week and your honeymoon trip next year to Italy and Switzerland! Wow! And enjoy some favorites from your beautiful wedding day!! Congratulations!
