Kate + Rob, a Powder Blue Wedding at Swan Harbor Farm

I am so honored to share Kate and Rob’s GORGEOUS Swan Harbor Farm wedding today! Kate and Rob were married at Saint Ignatius Church on Saturday, June 8, 2019, and they celebrated with friends and family at a beautiful reception after at Swan Harbor Farm in Havre de Grace.

Kate and Rob met a few years ago, and got engaged in January of 2018. It is clear that family is very important to these two. Kate and Rob both love and value their families, and it is SO wonderful how close their families are! After these two met, Kate and Rob were so surprised to discover that not only did their families live near each other in the Bel Air outskirts, but their families also had both been vacationing in the same area of Rehoboth Beach for years as well! And these two have continued the tradition – they are celebrating a fun mini-honeymoon at beautiful Rehoboth right now before their honeymoon later this summer to Hawaii!!

I met Kate and Rob in early 2018, and last fall, we were able to meet up for their beautiful engagement session at the Steppingstone Museum in Havre de Grace. Not only did we have the PERFECT light, but these two are so gorgeous – and we got SO lucky on Kate and Rob’s wedding day to have that same beautiful light!!

Kate began the day by getting ready at her parents’ stunning home with her bridal party and family. Kate’s mom was so sweet because she even asked me a few days ahead of the wedding what color bedspread would be best! (Which was so awesome and helpful for me because I styled Kate’s gorgeous details there!). Kate’s family was so accommodating of us and so kind – and that continued throughout the day! Once Kate put on her gorgeous wedding gown (just wait until you see photos! And see the back!!) we had time for some quick portraits in the backyard before everyone hopped in the limos and headed to the church!

Kate and Rob were married at Saint Ignatius Church, which is a beautiful church in Forest Hill. This was the same church where Brittany and Dan got married in two and a half years ago, and we loved being back! It was such a lovely backdrop for Kate and Rob’s vows.

Afterward, everyone headed to Swan Harbor Farm for a delightful cocktail hour with a string quartet, stunning decor, and lots of food and drinks! Swan Harbor Farm is a spectacular venue. In fact, when Justin and I were planning our wedding this was almost our venue, but we decided against it because it was a pretty long drive for our family and friends from where we live. Spending the day here, though, I just could not get over how beautiful Swan Harbor is. It is such a unique and beautiful venue – complete with gorgeous views of the Chesapeake Bay!!

And we had all of Swan Harbor Farm at our disposal for pictures – they even had a golf cart to help us make the trek to further away area! It was perfect! And just look at these AMAZING portraits!! We couldn’t have been luckier with the beautiful backdrop, the incredible lighting, and, well, the prettiest couple!! Kate and Rob are practically models! And their pictures are so, so beautiful!! After pictures with Kate, Rob, family, and the wedding party, it was time for the party to begin!

Kate’s parents own a wonderful catering company called Richlin Catering, and Kate and Rob’s guests got the absolute best five star service and food!

I was so surprised to learn that Kate’s parents planned out most of the beautiful decor. It was STUNNING and these two took care of EVERY little detail! It was amazing! It was SO sweet and touching how much energy, thought, and creativity Kate’s parents put into planning their day. There was so much LOVE – and the decor and space could not have been more beautiful. Justin and I were in awe of the decor, and I couldn’t stop taking detail photos! The flowers by Sheila Smith were INCREDIBLE; just wait until you see Kate and Rob’s floral details! The entrance to each tent was draped in chiffon and flower garlands, and Kate and Rob’s sweetheart table was surrounded by a wreath of florals. It was so beautiful. And the incredible attention to detail didn’t stop at the decor; a big perk of having parents that own an excellent catering company is that your wedding is going to have the most incredible food. And WOW did they ever!!

Dinner began with a crab cake and lobster shooter, followed by a wonderful salad. The third course was either Beef, Chilean Sea Bass, or a Goat Cheese and Veggie Quiche. INCREDIBLE! I know the guests loved it – and so did we! I have to be honest: I was totally spoiled by the great staff, food, and Kate’s parents! I have been talking about these outstanding dishes ever since – and I am sure the guests have as well! Kate’s parents even set a place for us at a table with the guests! I cannot say it enough: Kate, Rob, and their families are SO kind, welcoming, and loving; Justin and I were totally blown away by the way we were treated like guests at Kate and Rob’s beautiful day! Thank you!

Toward the end of the meal, Kate’s father wished everyone with upcoming birthdays a happy birthday (I was really impressed by his memory – there were a LOT of upcoming birthdays in the room – including the flower girl and ring bearers!) and then Kate and her father and Rob and his mother danced. And then the dance floor opened up!! It was the perfect time for golden hour light, so Kate, Rob, and I stepped out for a few minutes for some SPECTACULAR pictures (oh just wait until you see these!! This day was seriously PERFECT!), and soon, it was time for Kate and Rob’s wedding cake cutting! In addition to the beautiful cake from Cakes by Rita’s, Sprinkles Bakery had a wonderful spread of treats for guests. Kate and Rob’s DJ, Paul Smith, kept the guests dancing with fun music, and everyone had such a great time! And Kate and Rob kept everyone dancing too – these two had so much fun on the dance floor dancing and singing along to show tunes!

After their reception ended, the AFTER party began! Kate changed into a flowing floral gown, and the party shifted to the smaller tent for live guitar music by Sam O’Hare and late night snacks. It was a true party!! Justin and I didn’t want to leave – it was so much fun! And it couldn’t have been more beautiful; while listening to music and dancing, guests got to watch the sunset spread across the Bay.

Kate and Rob’s wedding could not have been more perfect; it was such a beautiful day celebrating such a wonderful couple, and Kate and Rob truly are such a perfect pair.

I have loved getting to know these two, and it was so wonderful to meet their family and friends. Kate is friends with Brittany, whose wedding to Dan we photographed in 2017, and Rob’s parents are good friends with Sam’s parents – and we just photographed Sam and Jimmy’s wedding in April! It is so cool to discover those connections, and we feel so thankful to have met so many wonderful people and to have the opportunity to celebrate their absolute best days with them.

Kate and Rob, Justin and I are SO happy for you two!! You are such genuinely kind and loving people, and your wedding was EVERYTHING! We are so excited to see all of the wonderful things to come for you both in the future. Congratulations!! Enjoy some highlights from your beautiful wedding day!
