Kathryn and Fran are married! These two shared their marriage vows at the Resurrection of our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Laurel and then celebrated their marriage at Overhills Mansion in Catonsville. And this book-loving couple had the most beautiful literary wedding!!
I met Kathryn and Fran through Megan and Sam, who celebrated their wedding just two weeks before Kathryn and Fran did! Kelsey was so surprised when she went to meet Fran and the groomsmen and discovered that she knew so many of the groomsmen from Megan and Sam’s wedding! J I have loved getting to know Kathryn and Fran and their sweet friends. These two are so loving, caring, and joyful; throughout the wedding day, Kathryn and Fran could not stop smiling at each other. It was so adorable! These two love each other so much, and they are such a great pair.
Kelsey and I started the wedding day at Kathryn’s parents’ home, where Kathryn, her family, and her bridal party were getting ready. Kathryn’s parents have an INCREDIBLE home (and the story behind it is so cool! Kathryn’s mom’s family gifted her the property where she grew up, and Kathryn’s parents built a dream home there!). And this home made for a perfect space for photographing Kathryn’s INCREDIBLE bridal details. Kathryn is SO organized, and she included so many special details. She had something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue, including a pearl from her grandmother’s pearl necklace, a lucky penny, and a beautiful blue necklace that was a wedding present from Fran. But in addition to those special details, Kathryn had fabric from her mother’s wedding gown, her grandmother’s wedding gown, and her great-grandmother’s wedding gown sewn to her bouquet. It was such a nice way to honor and celebrate those that came before her – and such a special touch.
Kathryn’s wedding invitations also were GORGEOUS! Kathryn and Fran love books, so these two had a fun book theme for their wedding. Kathryn’s friend designed the invitation suite, and just wait until you see this one! It is BEAUTIFUL! The book-shaped invitation, the “Pride and Prejudice” envelope liner (I know!), the card catalog information sheet, and the library stamp card RSVP made this such an unique invitation. But Kathryn included books in even more ways. Kathryn handmade the beautiful paper flowers that were included in her bouquet and comprised the bridesmaids bouquets using pages from early 1900’s French books. They are seriously spectacular. Vintage books and book pages adorned the tables of the reception, and guests signed a cute collection of book spines as a guestbook. Kathryn’s sister even read a short passage as part of her speech!
Once everyone was ready, Kathryn headed to the church she attended growing up to meet her soon-to-be husband. Kathryn and Fran were married at the Resurrection of our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Laurel, MD. After the ceremony, the two walked down the steps Kathryn played on as a child (pretending she was a bride!) as husband and wife, and got into a beautiful vintage 1950’s Rolls Royce, and headed to Overhills Mansion for their reception.
And what a fun reception this was! Overhills Mansion is such a beautiful venue, and after some BEAUTIFUL pictures of these two and their wedding party, it was time to celebrate! Kathryn and Fran have such a great group of friends and lots of family members, and everyone had so much fun celebrating Kathryn and Fran. Finally, at the end of the night, Kathryn, Fran, Kelsey, and I stepped outside for some quick night portraits that were oh-so-pretty with the outdoor lights at Overhills Mansion.
Congratulations, Kathryn and Fran! Kelsey and I have loved getting to know the two of you and it was such an honor to be part of your wedding! I can’t wait to hear about your AMAZING honeymoon in Ireland!!
So beautiful, Kathryn!!
Kathryn walked down these same steps every Sunday as a little girl pretending to be a bride – and now she is married and walking down those steps at her church!
I love this one of Kathryn so much!
LOVE!!
Such a great wedding party!
This is definitely a favorite!
Look who it is! And on the right is a photo of one of Kathryn’s family’s traditions; everyone puts money in a jar and gives the jar full of money to the couple!!
Congratulations, Kathryn and Fran!!
