Katie and Carlo, an Elegant Congressional Country Club Wedding

I am so happy to share Katie and Carlo’s gorgeous wedding today!

Katie and Carlo were married at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland on October 22, 2022.

Katie and Carlo first met at Chipotle when they were 14 – and they even dated in high school! They stayed friends and were in the same friends group for years, and then they reconnected in 2015 and have been together ever since. They bought their first home together last fall (exactly one year to the day before their wedding!) and they have the cutest pets: two dogs, Milo and Ruger. And now Katie and Carlo are MARRIED!!

Katie and Carlo began the day getting ready in different suites at the stunning Congressional Country Club. Katie and her bridal party popped champagne and shared mimosas in matching pajamas before it was time for Katie to put on her wedding gown. The surprised reaction from the bridal party when they saw Katie was adorable!! And it’s no wonder – Katie looks like a real-life Barbie!! She is truly a STUNNING bride. We were all so excited for the first look!

Soon after, Katie and Carlo shared a beautiful first look on the rooftop patio. Carlo’s reaction was so sweet! Then it was portrait time with the wedding party! After, we paused for the sweetest photo of Katie and Carlo and Katie’s mom and dad, Dawn and Skip. Dawn and Skip also got married at the Congressional Country Club! Katie and Carlo’s day of coordinator, Lauren, found a perfect spot with flowers that were the same color as the ones that Dawn and Skip posed near in their wedding photo. I love when couples can recreate these special moments! This was so wonderful.

We finished family portraits and even had more time for bride and groom portraits. Somehow we were all ahead of schedule all day! It was amazing and gave Katie, Carlo, and their wedding party some wonderful down-time before the ceremony.

Katie and Carlo’s wedding ceremony was on the huge rooftop patio on top of the Congressional Country Club. Congressional Country Club is an incredible venue and it was such a gorgeous backdrop to Katie and Carlo’s wedding. And it is so close to Washington, DC! It is hard to describe how big the Country Club is, and the rooftop deck was equally impressive. It overlooked the beautiful rolling hills and ponds across the golf course and was such a beautiful view for Katie and Carlo’s wedding. Carlo’s great uncle officiated the ceremony, which was really special.

After the wedding ceremony, we explored the beautiful golf course for portraits. Katie and Carlo’s wedding planner, Holly Moyer, had golf carts ready for us and we went to two beautiful spots on the golf course for pictures. The light was PERFECT at that time of day – and Katie and Carlo are truly perfect in every single photo! It was so beautiful and so much fun taking their photos in this space – and these two are just so sweet together. We have SO many favorites!!

And then it was time to party! The reception began with a beautiful first dance by Katie and Carlo, followed by a blessing from Carlo’s uncle. Then Katie’s dad gave a caring welcome speech. After dinner, Katie’s sister, Jackie, and Carlo’s brother, Massimo, gave speeches – and then the party began. And it was a PARTY!! Their DJ kept the dance floor packed and everyone dancing. Katie’s mom passed out light sticks for everyone to dance with and adorable light up floral crowns! Guests enjoyed late night desserts and fruit – plus wedding cake. It was so fun to see people relaxing in the lounge, enjoying Katie and Carlo’s beautiful custom neon light photo backdrop, and spending time outside since it was such a wonderful evening – and tons of people on the dance floor!

At the end of the night, guests cheered as Katie and Carlo left through a tunnel of beautiful ribbon wands. It was such a fun night and everyone had a great time.

Congratulations, Katie and Carlo!! We are so happy for you two!! It has been so much fun getting to know you two and I LOVE all of your pictures so much!! Enjoy some highlights from your beautiful wedding day!
