Lauren and Kiel are getting married in June 2019, and I can’t wait to celebrate their wedding! When Lauren first emailed me, I sent her the goofiest email back about how much we had in common (I’m so weird!), but luckily, I didn’t totally scare her away! I met Lauren and Kiel in July right before I was headed to Ireland, and Lauren, who has been to Ireland twice, gave me some tips for our trip. It was fun to see them again on what turned out to be a very Ireland-like day with a bit of misty rain!
Lauren and Kiel debated about having their engagement session at Towson University or right in their own backyard at Patterson Park, and I love that these two chose Patterson Park (with a stop in beautiful Fell’s Point – where we found some trees with fall color!). We started at sunrise at Fell’s Point and got some beautiful pictures around the water and with some wonderful fall-colored trees, and then Lauren and Kiel drove us to their beautiful home near Patterson Park. While they changed, Justin and I got some incredible ring pictures (there were so many plants to photograph their rings with! I never have so much variety – it was great!), and then we got to meet their adorable cats Ruthie and Teddy, whom Lauren and Kiel adopted from BARCS. They are SO sweet and personable! Next, we walked to Patterson Park, which is such a cool backdrop for portraits (and such a beautiful contrast to the cityscape). We ended with some pictures in front of Lauren and Kiel’s home, which was so fun! Lauren and Kiel are so nice and easy-going, and they both have such a good sense of humor. It is easy to see why these two fell in love; they have such a natural ease around each other, and complement each other so well. It was really nice getting to know these two, and I loved seeing the parts of Baltimore that they love. They care about their city so much, and it is really special that the city that is so meaningful to them served as the backdrop to their beautiful engagement pictures. These two are very politically active, and they spend their weekends encouraging other Baltimore residents to register to vote and to exercise their right to vote. As we walked around near their home, Lauren and Kiel pointed out their favorite food and coffee spots
I also loved that their engagement session was on October 15 – my 13-year anniversary with Justin! He came along to help, to balance plants during ring pictures, and to get some embarrassing behind the scenes photos of me! (He joked that I only asked to photograph Lauren and Kiel’s cats so I could meet them… which might be half true! I fell totally in love with their sweet cats!). Lauren and Kiel, we loved getting to know you two, and it was so fun exploring Baltimore with you both. You are such a sweet, humorous, kind couple, and I can’t wait for your wedding day! Enjoy some of my favorites from your beautiful engagement session!!
Love the one on the right so, so much!!
Lauren’s dress had pockets! So cool!
Another favorite! I love how the seagull flew by just at the right moment too.
I love this one!! And how gorgeous is this location!?
How beautiful is this tree canopy in Fell’s Point? These pretty leaves are the perfect fall colors!
So pretty!
Lauren’s ring is STUNNING!! This is an all-time favorite ring picture; I just love these color tones so much!
Special thanks to Lauren and Kiel’s across the street neighbors, who have an incredible variety of pretty flowers on their front steps! :) How beautiful is this?!
Ruthie and Teddy!! These two are so sweet and good-natured. It was so nice to meet them! (And Ruthie is an orange female cat – so unique! Most orange cats are males. We have an orange female cat too – Delilah – and I’ve never met another one before!). Ruthie and Teddy showed off their playing skills for the camera – check out Ruthie’s pivot maneuver!
I love these pictures of Lauren and Kiel in front of the pagoda! Don’t their outfit colors match it so well?
Beautiful!!
Lauren, you’re so gorgeous! I love this one!!
You two are so cute!
Congratulations, Lauren and Kiel!
