Lauren + Kiel, a Rose Gold Accelerator Space Wedding

I am SO excited to share Lauren and Kiel’s wedding today!! Lauren and Kiel were married on June 1, 2019 at the beautiful Accelerator Space in Baltimore.

Lauren and Kiel met in college at Towson University; Lauren was in the student government, and Kiel wrote for the student newspaper. After graduating, these two lost touch for a couple of years, but reconnected in 2012 – and have been together ever since! In 2016, they bought their first home together, and in 2017, Lauren and Kiel got engaged and started planning their dream wedding!

I first met Lauren and Kiel two years ago – in the summer of 2017. I remember thinking back then that June 1, 2019 seemed like it was in the very far future – which is kind of funny to remember now! Justin and I had just moved into our home, and Lauren and Kiel came over. We had such a good time talking, and they loved our cats and dogs! Justin and I met up with them in Baltimore that fall for a fun engagement session exploring Fell’s Point and Patterson Park – and we even got to stop at their house for some pictures and to meet their adorable cats, Rosie and Teddy!! But then we had a long wait until their big day – a year and a half – but these two didn’t forget any of their photo poses (especially the hands in pockets! Haha) :) And their wedding day pictures were GORGEOUS!!

Lauren began the day getting ready at the Radisson Cross Keys with her bridal party, mother, and grandmother. Lauren is SO organized, and she had all of her details gathered in adorable boxes – including a very special letter! Lauren and Kiel mailed their wedding invitation to J.K.Rowling, and they recurved a letter in the mail congratulating them on their wedding!! It’s so cool! Lauren had other beautiful details too, like her lovely hand fasting cords, and the favors they gave their guests: the cutest campaign pins with their last names on them! (They were awesome favors – seriously one of my favorite ever. I was trying to find one that was left behind at the end of the night so I could keep one – but they were clearly very popular! Haha!). Lauren even got a beautiful Mrs. Box for pictures with her and Kiel’s rings that perfectly coordinated (and I mean PERFECTLY!) with her teal and rose gold color palette! Lauren’s maid of honor and cousin, Dani, also surprised Lauren with a beautiful and thoughtful photo charm in memory of their grandparents for Lauren’s bouquet. It was such a touching tribute to them and a memorable gift. While Lauren was getting ready at the hotel, Kiel and his wedding party were getting ready – and having lots of fun – and Full Tilt Brewing right beside the Accelerator Space! Kelsey met up with the groom’s wedding party there for some awesome pictures, and then Kelsey, Kiel, and their wedding videographer, TJ of Darpino Media, headed to Sherwood Gardens for Lauren and Kiel’s first look!!

Lauren and Kiel’s first look was so sweet (and a few tear were shed!). These two each had special surprises for the other, also; Lauren gave Kiel an embroidered handkerchief that matched the one she carried with her, and Kiel gave Lauren a sweet book of memories. And then we got to do portraits at the gorgeous Sherwood Gardens!! What a perfect spot for portraits and a great contrast to the more industrial setting of the Accelerator Space. Lauren and Kiel planned everything so well, and having this spot for portraits was perfect. After their gorgeous pictures, we all headed to the Accelerator Space for their ceremony!

Lauren and Kiel’s wedding ceremony took place under a beautiful rose gold arbor that these two built. (It was amazing – and I was so impressed that they made it. I wish I had a use for one in my house because it looked SO cool!). Their officiant was a close friend, and they concluded their ceremony with an Irish hand fasting. It was so special! Afterward, guests enjoyed appetizers and drinks on the patio and indoors while Kelsey and I photographed the wedding party, family, and a few more of Lauren and Kiel outside of the Accelerator Space. Lauren and Kiel’s friends helped coordinate the day and kept everything on track (and still found time for some beautiful ballroom dancing, too!).

And then it was party time!! Lauren and Kiel’s reception space was beautifully decorated with SO many gorgeous peonies (Lauren’s bouquet and the table florals by Local Color Flowers were STUNNING!) and gorgeous rose gold geometric accents. Kelsey and I are both huge fans of rose gold and metallic geometric decor – we were pretty obsessed with Lauren and Kiel’s decor. But then we saw their cake! Kelsey actually gasped out loud when she walked in the reception space and first saw Lauren and Kiel’s cake – and I am sure that we were not the only ones! Just wait until you see pictures of their cake – it was STUNNING!! I have never seen a rose gold cake before (and I am still not sure how they did it!!). It was beautiful!! Lauren and Kiel also had the most unique guest book! Lauren’s close friend and bridesmaid creates holiday cards for these two each year (they are SO CUTE). So she made them a beautiful wedding picture – complete with the cats!!! (I know!!). It is adorable! These two are so lucky to have such a talented friend! Lauren and Kiel’s sweetheart table added a touch of their Irish heritage with beautiful Claddagh champagne glasses, and the table linens matched the bridesmaid’s teal dresses. It was gorgeous!

After dinner, Lauren and Kiel stepped outside for some quick sunset pictures, and then the party took off. And it was a PARTY!! Lauren and Kiel’s friends and family know how to party!! And their DJ, Bobby, of ID Pro DJ, kept everyone dancing until the very end – well, that is until the after party started downstairs at Full Tilt Brewing!! The party kept on going! Lauren and Kiel took a quick break for some fun sparkler pictures outside under the pretty cafe lights, and then celebrated some more! It was such a fun day, and it is clear that everyone was so, so happy for these two. Lauren and Kiel have so many shared interests and passions, and it is clear that they lift each other up in so many ways. They are both such kind, generous, and thoughtful people, and they are loved by so many – including us!! I have loved getting to know these two over the two years we’ve been planning for their big day!! (I have to admit – I’m a little sad it is over!). Kelsey and Justin both loved getting to know them too, and the three of us are so happy for them.

After their wedding Lauren and Kiel took off for a fun honeymoon in the Big Easy – New Orleans!! Lauren and Kiel, I hope you two had a chance to relax a bit during your honeymoon! We are SO happy for you two and we love you both so much!! Enjoy some favorites from your BEST DAY EVER!!
