Nicole and Sean celebrated their marriage last Saturday, October 28, at the Golf Club at South River on a picture-perfect fall day. Nicole and Sean are such incredibly kind, funny, and thoughtful people, and it is clear they are loved by so many people. Many of their friends came together to help decorate the venue and reception before the wedding, and everyone had so much fun celebrating with Nicole and Sean.
After Nicole and Sean shared a beautiful first look on the bridge behind the Golf Club at South River, we explored the golf course and took some SPECTACULAR portraits! Right away, Nicole and Sean were experts! They were just so natural and sweet together – and the photos show their love! It was so much fun photographing these two; I have to be honest – they were making my job way too easy! On top of that, we had AMAZING fall leaves all around us! Late October is such a great time for fall colors, and these two had such perfect timing. Just wait until you see their portraits; I had so much trouble narrowing down my favorites (and there are still a lot!) :)
Nicole’s maid of honor, Kerry, has been Nicole’s best friend since these two were born. In fact, Kerry’s mother was Nicole’s mother’s maid of honor also! Nicole’s mom, Nieves, met Kerry’s mother long before Nicole and Kerry were born; both women were dieticians and they became best friends. Fast forward many years later, and Nicole was Kerry’s maid of honor when she got married, and now, Kerry is Nicole’s “best woman” J How incredible is that? It is so sweet that these four women have celebrated so many special moments together! Sean has also known his best man, Ben, for many years, but as Ben joked during his speech, not since these two were newborns! Sean and Ben met in middle school, and attended grade school and even graduate school together! These two are goofy and so much fun to be around. Nicole and Sean included Kerry and Ben in their bride and groom pictures, and Justin and I had so much fun with these four! They are just so much fun to be around.
Two of Nicole and Sean’s friends gave heartfelt readings during the ceremony, and then Nicole and Sean had a “dirt” ceremony! During their ceremony, these two planted a Maryland-native tree and covered it with soil from their hometowns of Lyndhurst, New Jersey and Davidsonville, Maryland as a way to represent their new roots in this new season of their lives as husband and wife. Throughout Nicole and Sean’s wedding, plants and trees were incorporated in many creative and special ways. In addition to planting a tree with soil from their hometowns, Nicole and Sean’s “guestbook” was a beautiful carved wooden tree, with leaves for guests to leave their initials. Guests could also take a pen from the tree-bark container and leave a message for these two; messages were hung from tree branches. Nicole and Sean’s wedding invitations were adorned with gold leaves, and these two sent each guest home with an adorable thank you gift: a potted succulent plant of their own! (They were SO cute!). It was so special that Nicole and Sean included plants in so many ways on their day, and it was made even more perfect because the trees outside were in perfect spectacular fall color. The colorful autumn trees made for an incredible backdrop to Nicole and Sean’s portraits!
The reception began, and Kerry and Ben gave speeches, and then Nicole and Sean thanked their guests for joining them. Guests enjoyed fun appetizers and entrees throughout the night, including crab dip and a risotto bar, and seating was open and flexible, allowing guests to mingle and move through the venue. After Nicole and Sean’s first dance – to Shaggy’s “Angel,” – the dance floor opened up and the party began! What a fun group of family and friends these two have! Nicole, Sean, and I snuck out for some quick night portraits, and then at the end of the night, these two left their reception through a beautiful sparkler exit!
Nicole and Sean, you two are such a fun, kind, and caring couple, and it is easy to see that you are a wonderful match. It was so much fun celebrating with you two, your families, and your friends, and Justin and I loved getting to know you both! Congratulations!!
