Rachel and Matt, an Autumn Engagement at Wilde Lake and the Howard County Conservancy

Congratulations on your engagement, Rachel and Matt! I am so excited to share Rachel and Matt’s beautiful engagement session today! 

Rachel and Matt went on their very first date at Wilde Lake park around the lake. Rachel has always dreamed of living in Wilde Lake, where Matt owns a home. Now Rachel and Matt live alongside beautiful Wilde Lake with their dog, Charlie, and their cat, Butters, and they are planning their wedding for next fall!

So it was very fitting that Rachel and Matt wanted to do part of their engagement session at beautiful Wilde Lake. We had a few rescheduled dates due to the weather, but it worked out perfectly because the night of Rachel and Matt’s engagement session was GORGEOUS! We had such beautiful light and the most amazing fall colors. It was stunning! And Wilde Lake is super beautiful. The lake is so pretty, the natural rocks makes an awesome photo backdrop, and the fall colors were just perfection. After some photos around the lake, Rachel and Matt switched outfits (and I photographed Rachel’s STUNNING engagement ring!) and then we headed over the the nearby Howard County Conservancy for more beautiful photos. It was definitely getting colder at that point, but you would never guess from the pictures. And we were rewarded with the most spectacular sunset, too, at the end of the night! It was so colorful (and we were in such a good spot to see it, too!). 

It has been so fun getting to know Rachel and Matt. Even though we just met this summer, we’ve discovered so many connections, like our involvement with the same local charity, Rachel and I are both vegetarians and are from the same town, and we are all animals lovers. And Rachel and Matt even coincidentally met my sister, Kelsey! It is such a small world! I also got to photograph Rachel and Matt a few months ago for their sunflower portraits. It has been so fun getting to know them and I am so excited for them to celebrate their wedding next year!
