On Sunday I had SO much fun photographing Rachel, the granddaughter of my father’s good friends Marcy and Bill. Marcy emailed me a few months ago to set up a photoshoot as a birthday gift for Rachel, and in the months since I have been worrying about the weather; we knew we wanted to do an outdoors shoot, and Rachel was only going to be at their home on Sunday. But all that worrying was without cause, because we were so, so lucky to have a BEAUTIFUL morning (and truly as I was driving home, clouds rolled in and covered the sun for the rest of the day!). We were very fortunate, and the beautiful sun made for some perfect pictures!!
Rachel was such a blast to work with. When I got there, Rachel and Marcy showed me all of Rachel’s outfits (what you see below is not even all of them! Rachel is a true fashionista.) and they offered me chocolate chip cookies. Isn’t that so sweet? That is just the kind of people they are. We took all of the pictures in Marcy’s yard (and a few in their neighbor’s yard) and Rachel was a pro. At the beginning, I took a few shots to show her what her hair looked like, and as soon as I finished those it was like she knew exactly what she was doing. Rachel and Marcy had lots of great pose and set ideas (and Marcy had lots of towels for us to sit on too!) and I love how the shots came out!
I had such a great time with Rachel, Marcy, and Bill. They were some of the nicest people you could ever meet, and they have such a great relationship. I had so much fun!!
Marcy’s lawn was beautiful and weed-free, so we snuck over to the neighbor’s yard to get this hippie-eqsue dandelions in the shot!
Rachel with her grandparents :)
Rachel started laughing at me at this point; I am sure I looked ridiculous because every time I asked her to pose, I did the same pose – but then sometimes I just stayed in that pose to shoot! I don’t know how Marcy kept a straight face during this!
This picture is so cool. Marcy and Bill’s son (Rachel’s father) grew up in this very home, so Rachel got a picture in front of the same azalea bushes that her dad took his high school prom pictures in front of. The best part? That Boston shirt is her dad’s too!
