I am SO EXCITED to share Rona and Alex’s gorgeous wedding today!! Rona and Alex were married on November 9 at the beautiful Chantilly National Golf Club in Chantilly, Virginia.
I’ve been so excited to meet Rona and Alex. Rona has to win the award for most upbeat and easy-going bride EVER! She was so organized, and every time we emailed, she was so, so excited for her wedding! I’ve loved getting to know her and Alex through social media, and I was so excited to finally meet these two and to celebrate their wedding with them! And as sweet and easy-going as they were by email, they are even more so in person!! Alex and Rona are such kind, thoughtful, caring people. They were so invested in making sure that their guests had a great time during their wedding. Even at the end of the night, Rona and Alex were both worrying about us – asking if we had gotten enough to eat and encouraging us to get some cake or visit their adorable ice cream sundae bar! : ) Hardly a moment went by that these two were not smiling or laughing. They are just such nice people – and it was such a joy to celebrate their marriage!
Rona began her day getting ready with her bridal party at the lovely Marriott in Chantilly. Afterward, everyone headed to the Chantilly National Golf Club for the wedding ceremony! These two were SO excited to see each other as Rona walked down the aisle – it was such a sweet moment! And their ceremony was beautiful. It is clear that these two are such a great couple – and they were so happy to be married!
After the ceremony, we headed outside for family portraits. While it was a rainy day, Rona and Alex’s venue had so many great covered options for outdoor portraits! The rain started during the getting ready period of the day, and unfortunately didn’t let up until after sunset! So while it was super rainy, we were still able to get tons of gorgeous portraits JJust wait until you see Rona and Alex’s gorgeous wedding portraits. These two were so positive too; you would never guess it was so chilly! And Rona and Alex’s wedding party was SO wonderful and helpful!! They were so encouraging, easy-going about the rain, and kind. Rona’s bridal party was so much fun – I loved getting to know this group! They were so easy-going – even about the rain on their dresses!
And then it was time for the reception!! Each table was beautifully decorated with lavender tablecloths and napkins, candles, and florals, plus purple M&M’s for guests. The guests enjoyed cocktail hour upstairs, and then headed downstairs for dinner and dancing. Rona and Alex’s wedding reception was so much fun!! The evening started with first dances, and then lots of speeches from family and family – including a super sweet speech from Rona’s sister, Romy. These two are so close, and Kelsey and I were both teary-eyed after the speech! I feel so fortunate to photograph weddings alongside my sister – she is my absolute best friend, and it is clear that Rona and Romy share the same close friendship too! After speeches and dinner, everyone gathered on the dance floor for group pictures, the bouquet toss, and the garter toss, and then the dance floor opened up! And what a FUN group this was!!
As the evening drew to a close, everyone gathered at the exit to form a tunnel that Rona and Alex ran through. Then, we headed outside for some GORGEOUS night portraits! The rain had finally stopped, and these two got such beautiful portraits – I love the mist that is left behind after a rainy day, and it made their pictures look so magical!
Rona and Alex, Kelsey and I are so, so happy for you!! You two are seriously the sweetest couple; it is so easy to see that you two are such a perfect match. You two are so nice, and it is clear that you both value and care about each other so much. You have such a special connection. It has been such a joy getting to know you two, and Kelsey and I loved meeting your wonderful family and friends at your wedding. We love you both and are so happy for you!! Enjoy married life!! Congratulations!!
I love this ring picture!! Alex’s ring is almost copper-colored – it is so pretty beside Rona’s gorgeous rings!

Love both of these!! Also, how did we get so lucky to have this gorgeous wooden door as a backdrop in this covered space? So pretty!!
Look at these two!!! You two are so beautiful!! And even though it was rainy and gray, we got some golden glow!
This group!! Look at all of those smiling faces – even when I made them step into the rain for this photo! I love this one!!

In her matron of honor speech, Rona’s sister, Romy, said that Rona has the most beautiful eyes she has ever seen. I have to agree – look at her gorgeous eyes!! Rona, you’re a stunning bride!
