Last week, Samantha and Mike celebrated their engagement at the beautiful Jarrettsville Nurseries Christmas Tree farm, with a cozy, snuggly, festive Christmas tree engagement session complete with ornaments, Christmas trees, two cute pups, lots of pretty shades of maroon, and gorgeous, golden light! It was so much fun! Now, these two are looking forward to ringing in the New Year and celebrating their 2018 wedding next summer!
Sam and Mike have magnetic personalities; they are just the type of people you want to be around. Their energy, enthusiasm, and happiness is contagious, and they make each other laugh and smile (just wait until you see their adorable portraits!). They are both so full of joy, and it is easy to see that these two fit together like two pieces of a puzzle. Sam and Mike both grew up in close vicinity to the Jarrettsville Nurseries Christmas Tree farm, and growing up, they both went to this tree farm with their families to get Christmas trees. Yet Sam and Mike didn’t meet until many years later, when they were both living in Baltimore. Is it so incredible how these things happen! Now they get to go to Christmas Tree Day together (just this past weekend!), and they are celebrating their engagement in a place that is special to the two of them. :)
Sam first suggested having their engagement session at a Christmas tree farm this summer – when it was hot and sunny and hard to imagine the temperature even going below 80 degrees. But I was SO excited for the idea; I think every photographer just dreams about cozy, snuggly, wintery engagement sessions! We picked out a date (and a few backup dates!), and we were SO lucky that our first choice date turned out to be gorgeously sunny and surprisingly warm (when is it ever 60 degrees in November? Wow!). Not only was the good weather on our side, but Sam and Mike’s sweet dog, Natty, was such a champ! She loved playing in the Christmas trees and posing with her parents. (I’ve been waiting to meet her for almost a year, so I was just about as excited to finally meet Natty as I was so meet Sam and Mike!!). Mike’s stepmother, Judy, helped out with Natty, and she also brought along their family dog, Boh! I adore dogs, so I loved having two four-legged pals join us for pictures :)
Sam is a wedding planner with the incredibly talented team at Lemon & Lime Event Design (love them!!), so she had a spectacular vision for her engagement session. It was so fun to share ideas while planning for Sam and Mike’s session, and I just LOVE their pictures! It was so difficult to narrow this gallery down! Not only did these two have a great vision, but they seriously are some of the sweetest people. They are just so fun to be around, and they kept each other (and me!) laughing throughout their entire session. They even gave me a sweet Christmas gift at the end of their session! Sam and Mike, congratulations on your engagement!! I am so happy for you both! Enjoy some favorites from your beautiful engagement session!
I love both of these!!
Another favorite!!
Aren’t these two just the cutest ever?
Sam’s ring is SPECTACULAR!
This is an all-time favorite!
Isn’t the beautiful? And on top of that, Natty is such a sweet dog! Sam and Mike adopted her just a few years ago from a local shelter and she is seriously smitten with them!
Isn’t Natty such a model?
So, so sweet!!
Sam’s friend lettered this beautiful ornament for them :)
I LOVE this one!! These two are so adorable together!!
Mike’s family’s dog, Boh, came along too! He was SO excited and I’m pretty sure he wanted to meet every single Christmas tree on the farm, but the four of us managed to sneak in a photo of him looking right at the camera! :)
Sam, you are so gorgeous!!
We were so happy that we found some fall color!
Another all-time favorite!
I love this one!
Congratulations, Sam and Mike! I can’t wait to celebrate your wedding with you two!!
