Sarah and Seth, a Summertime Wedding at Vanderwende Acres

I am so excited to share Sarah and Seth’s beautiful wedding today!!

Sarah and Seth were married on July 23 at gorgeous Vanderwende Acres in Seaford, Delaware.

Sarah and Seth met at Salisbury State University and have been together ever since. Now, they live just minutes from Sarah’s twin, Megan, and her husband, and nearby to Sarah’s parents! During her speech, Megan joked that she hoped Sarah and Seth would move in beside them if a house in Megan’s neighborhood went on the market! It is so sweet how they all live near each other! Kelsey turned to me after Megan’s speech and said “it’s just like us!” because Kelsey and I live about a mile apart – and I’m trying to get her to move even closer!

Sarah and Seth began the day by getting ready in separate parts of Vanderwende Acres. Before the ceremony, they took a moment to hold hands (without seeing each other!) on either side of a stone walled house – and to share a Fireball shot! After that, Sarah had an emotional first look with her father and we did some pictures with the bridal party and then it was time for the wedding ceremony!

Sarah and Seth were married on the patio at Vanderwende Acres, which has a beautiful stone fireplace and overlooks acres and acres of fields. It was a beautiful ceremony! Afterward, it was portrait time! It was a HOT day, but Sarah was so thoughtful and brought neck fans for her bridal party. Those helped a lot! And once the sun set, the temperature was absolutely perfect! Guests also cooled off in the adorable Dairy Barn during cocktail hour (and enjoyed the super cute photo booth!). And even though it was hot, it was gorgeous and sunny all day! We couldn’t have asked for prettier weather!

Vanderwende Acres has so many gorgeous portrait spots and there are acres upon acres of beautiful fields around the property. There are also limelight hydrangeas blooming everywhere – which was the most gorgeous backdrop in photos!! Sarah’s dad brought his beloved restored car for photos with Sarah and Seth and the pictures at the car were SO pretty!! Sarah had a fun vision of portraits in the soybean field and she and Seth bravely went into the field for photos (I love these ones – and love it so much when a couple tries something different like this with photos!!). Sarah’s mom, Amy, envisioned a beautiful silhouette in the upper barn, so once it cooled down a bit, we went up there for a quick photo – and it was SO worth it!! We even got a quick peek at the gorgeous sunset before the sun drifted behind clouds; our sunset portrait timing was PERFECT! Sarah and Seth have so many gorgeous pictures!!

After portraits, it was reception time! Sarah and Seth had a beautiful wooden hexagon behind their table with a neon sign with their new shared last name (the decor was SO fun!). Each table had a sage green water glass to coordinate with the wedding colors. At the start of the reception, Sarah and Seth’s wedding party was introduced and then these two shared their first dance. After dinner and sunset portraits, Megan, Nate, And Tyler gave speeches, and then Sarah’s dad gave a thoughtful toast (all with a beautiful sunset behind them – it was gorgeous!). After that Sarah shared a father daughter dance with her dad, Seth danced with his mom, and then Sarah surprised her mom with a special mother daughter dance! It was so sweet and Sarah’s mom was completely surprised! And then the party really kicked off! The DJ played so many great songs (I may have been listening to some of them this past week while editing!) and the crowd kept the dance floor packed! It was such a fun night – and I think this crowd could have partied for hours and hours! A Vanderwende Ice Cream truck arrived just outside of the reception pavilion and it was a BIG hit with guests! (Ok, and with photographers!). :) The ice cream was AMAZING and it was clear that everyone enjoyed the cold sweet treat on that beautiful summer evening.

At the end of the night, Sarah and Seth shared a special private last dance on the patio at Vanderwende Acres under the pretty bistro lights, and then raced through their cheering guests and friends who blew bubbles and waved glow sticks to their waiting exit vehicle!

Sarah and Seth, your wedding was absolutely spectacular!! We are so, so happy for you two and so excited for you two to begin your life together.
