I am so excited to share Schnitzel’s ADORABLE dog portrait session!! Stephanie contacted me because she wanted goofy, summery, fun portraits with Schnitzel, and I couldn’t wait!
I first met Stephanie many years ago (I think 11 years ago, which is sounding like so much longer than I realized!) at Animal Advocates Walk for Paws. Stephanie is an incredibly talented photographer, and she volunteered at the Walk for Paws photographing people and their dogs. She took many pictures of me and Emily over the years at the Walk! I admired Stephanie’s work so much, and as I became interested in photography, Stephanie invited me to be part of the Walk for Paws photography as well. I loved helping out with the photo booth, and when Stephanie moved a few years ago, she asked if I would take over, and I have loved carrying on the tradition she began at the Walk for Paws. It is so much fun meeting people and even better spending the day photographing so many cute dogs!
Not only does Stephanie love photographing dogs, but she loves dogs! This past spring, Stephanie rescued a new family member: adorable Schnitzel, the senior mini dachshund! Just wait until you meet this cute pup – he has so much personality and is such a love bug! Schnitzel was picked up as a stray dog, and in addition to some injuries and a damaged eye, he was also missing almost all of his teeth – which has resulted in his sweet floppy-tongue smile. Schnitzel had to have his left eye removed, but he has healed so well and it recovering from his prior neglect and living the good life now. Stephanie saw his photo on the shelter website and that was it – she knew she had to meet him. Schnitzel was adopted – and adopted a very formal name as well – Professor Schnitzel! You can follow Schnitzel’s adventures (and see some more photos and videos of this sweet pup) at Professor Schnitzel’s Instagram. Schnitzel recently took a road trip all the way from Oregon to Maryland, and soon he will be taking the same trip, and he will be sharing photos to Instagram. He is a very well-traveled dog! Schnitzel lives with Stephanie and Seth’s two other rescue dogs, Molly and Beverly, and he is so happy to have his forever family :)
What a fun session this was with Professor Schnitzel! Seth came along to assist, but he got roped into pictures too – and he did a great job of just having fun for the pictures too :) Stephanie and Seth are not only easy-going and lighthearted, but they are incredibly funny people, and that showed in their pictures! Stephanie bought fun colorful balloons and cute bowties for Schnitzel, and he enjoyed running around and playing in the grass during his session.
We ended Schnitzel’s portrait session in the best way possible – he got to share a soft serve ice cream with Seth! (Schnitzel was SO EXCITED. Stephanie said he ran around the house on a sugar high late into the night!). Stephanie also treated Justin and I to snowballs; it was so fun to end a session watching the sun set and enjoying a sweet treat with friends and a very happy little dog :) Enjoy some favorites from Schnitzel’s portrait session!
Two peas in a pod!
I love that Steph brought these colorful balloons! They match Schnitzel’s bowtie so well too :)
Watching this little pup run was one of the cutest things I have ever seen!
Schnitzel, you’re so cute!
I love this!
Prom pose with Schnitzel!
Yay! Congratulations on your happy life, Schnitzel!!
