Shaun and Nick celebrated their marriage with an elegant red and black wedding on September 10 at the Pier 5 Hotel in Baltimore. It was such a beautiful day! I know I have said it before, but it is so true: Shaun and Nick are truly two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met! Ever since their engagement session last year in historic Ellicott City, I have been looking forward to Shaun and Nick’s wedding. These two are just such nice people – they are a joy to be around and spend time with – and it was clear on their wedding day that they have many close friends and family that feel the same way about them!
Shaun and Nick’s wedding day was truly a perfect day. Shaun and Nick both got ready at the Pier 5 Hotel in downtown Baltimore. Nick is a Maryland native, but Shaun moved here from New York, and now these two live just outside of Baltimore with their three cats (They are all calicos named after basketball players: LeBron, Westbrook, and Carmelo! Kelsey and I were pretty excited about that because she has a cat named Kobe Bryant – another basketball-loving cat!). :)
As soon as Kelsey and I got to Shaun’s bridal suite, she gave us gifts! Kelsey and I were so shocked and surprised – and so incredibly thankful. Shaun got us black Tom’s to match the wedding party – who were all wearing red Toms! Oh my goodness – it was so sweet and just so thoughtful! I am a huge Toms fan, but Shaun is truly the Toms queen – she has so many adorable Toms! She even wore Toms at her engagement session! So for her wedding day, Shaun made sure to have an adorable pair of white lace Toms that perfectly matched her wedding day and her personality! These two incorporated so many other unique and special elements into their elegant day. Shaun coaches cheerleading, so she made sure her cheer background was part of the celebration; she had cheer bows on each of the bouquets (they are so adorable!), two girls that Shaun coaches were her incredibly cute flower girls, and tons of Shaun’s sweet cheer students came to celebrate the wedding.
Earlier in the day, during detail photos indoors, we noticed the sky growing darker – and then it started raining! But thankfully, as we photographed Shaun and Nick getting ready, the rain cleared, the skies brightened, and the rest of the stay remained clear and sunny! And what a relief that was; Shaun and Nick’s waterside ceremony was so beautiful. The ceremony was filled with smiles and laughter, and it was so special because a close family friend officiated.
After the ceremony and cocktail hour, everyone head upstairs to the Pier 5 reception room for dinner, dancing, and lots of celebrating. Shaun and Nick wanted their guests to mingle and spend time on the dance floor instead of sitting at separate tables. So there were no assigned tables, and instead of lots of large round tables, they had cocktail tables, tables for small groups, and tables outdoors on the large porch. It was such a fun idea! But I don’t think these two needed to do anything to help get people on the dance floor – this was such a fun group! And you have to see Nick’s incredible handstand and one-arm headstand (seriously!) on the dance floor! This was such a fun celebration!!
Congratulations, Shaun and Nick!! We adore you two and absolutely loved capturing your beautiful wedding day!!
