Kelsey and Sam met up with me at the sunflower field in Maple Lawn a few weeks ago. Just as we arrived, it started to rain (and I had a baby and no umbrella!). Thankfully the rain stopped after about fifteen minutes, and we even got to see a pretty rainbow for a bit. Kelsey and I have grown up near this field in Fulton; I can remember looking out at the cows in the field while eating dinner at Ledo’s with our family, stopping to get gas or ice cream at the High’s, painting pottery at Burning Down the House art studio, or heading to or from school. This year, instead of cows, though, there were beautiful, tall sunflowers. While it was pretty muddy (and some places were too crowded for my level of comfort), it was so beautiful to see the sunflowers – and to take photos of Kelsey and Sam the day before their one year anniversary! Happy anniversary, Kelsey and Sam! Here are a few of my favorites of these two.
