I am so happy to share some favorite from Justin, Rae, and Rhian’s recent family portrait session at the azalea garden at Brighton Dam. I’ve been friends with Justin and Rae for many years; Justin and I went to graduate school together at the University of Maryland years ago and I photographed Justin and Rae’s wedding! And our kids are just one month apart in age; it is so great! It has been really fun seeing these two little ones grow up and we can’t wait for them to have a playdate together one day. They even got to go to each others’ first birthday Zoom parties! :)
Justin and Rae coordinated with their parents so that everyone could be together for some photos and it was so nice! We were worried about weather (the forecast showed rain every day leading up to their session and on the day they had planned for photos), but thankfully we didn’t need to reschedule because it ended up being a perfect, sunny, and warm day. And Rhian had SO much fun exploring the azalea garden, reading books, looking at flowers, spotting birds, and discovering her shadow. She was so patient with photos and she is just the cutest! She knows so many words (her vocabulary is huge already!) and she has so much to say. It was so cool to see how she interacted with the world. And it was so fun to see all of the grandparents for photos. Justin and Rae’s families are so nice and I am so glad we had this opportunity for everyone to gather together to get photos. It is so hard to organize something like this but so worth it to have these great photos together – and so wonderful to have these in such an incredible setting, too! The Brighton Dam azalea garden is stunning! Here are some of my many favorites from this beautiful family portrait session last week!
